How I work

initial consultation and Fees

Therapy is a process, and the first step is to contact me via email to set up an initial consultation, either online or in person. During this meeting, we’ll discuss the challenges you’re currently facing and explore whether ongoing work together feels like the right fit. Creating a space where you feel safe is essential, as it allows a trusting therapeutic relationship to develop. If we decide to proceed, we will arrange weekly sessions at a time that works for both of us.

For individual therapy, my standard fee is £80 per session. I offer a sliding scale between £60 and £100, depending on individual financial circumstances.

For couple therapy, my standard fee is £120 per session, with a sliding scale ranging from £90 to £150. This includes flexibility for those who may need a reduced rate, as well as the option for higher contributions from those in a position to pay more.

I aim to make therapy accessible while also maintaining a sustainable practice. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss what might work for you.

Working Together

Psychodynamic therapy is typically open-ended. In certain cases, I can also offer time-limited therapy if it seems appropriate and beneficial for your needs.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place on the same day and time each week. This is because the therapeutic process requires a regular commitment that you can rely upon over time.

In ongoing therapy, we will engage in a collaborative exploration, with sessions guided by you, allowing you to reflect on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours at your own pace. I will offer observations and comments to help you make sense of your experiences and gain deeper understanding. This process can open the door to meaningful change and growth.

Ending of Therapy

Agreeing on the ending in advance is important, as it allows us the necessary time to review the work and reflect on the feelings that may arise as therapy concludes. Ending therapy is a meaningful part of the process, and taking this time allows us to bring things to a natural and thoughtful close.
